Ulas Bagci

Dr. Ulaş Bağcı is a Professor (tenured) in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University in Chicago. His research interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning and their applications in biomedical and clinical imaging. Dr. Bağcı has published more than 3000 peer-reviewed papers on these topics. Previously, he was a staff scientist and laboratory co-director at the National Institutes of Health's Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences, Center for Infectious Disease Imaging, where he held NIH R01, U01, R21, R15, and R03 grants (as Principal Investigator) and served as a member of the AIR (artificial intelligence resource) steering committee at NIH. Dr. Bağcı has also served as a field chair of MICCAI for many years and is an associate editor of top-tier journals in his field, including IEEE Trans. on Medical Imaging, Medical Physics, and Medical Image Analysis. Prof. Bağcı teaches machine learning, advanced deep learning methods, computer and robot vision, and medical imaging. He has received many international and national recognitions, including best paper and referee awards.
